Gaming Update
As a few of you might know, I enjoy the odd gaming session (online and off) and am a big fan of the Delta Force, Unreal Tournament and Championship Manager series amongst others… So as you can imagine I was delighted to see these two bits of news waiting in my inbox this morning:
- Novalogic’s Joint Operations - Multiplayer Hands-on
- Championship Manager 5 - World’s first screenshots
When Championship Manager 5 hits the shelves, you can pretty much say “bye-bye” to my personal life.

I didn’t get the last release of Champ Manager for that very reason. I’m not sure I’ll be able to resist this time around.
It does look incredibly accurate in the screen shots though - Spurs are already second from bottom :)

To be honest… the last incarnation was “pants” to say the least.
Given how many years they have been flogging the same old engine for this game, you think they would have figured out how to make it faster.
I mean I’ve upgraded my computer about 20 times since i first started playing Champ Manager 2… and to be honest my computer is now almost 300% faster than it was at that time… but still it was slow.
Years and years ago when time wasn’t really an issue, I suppose I would have put up with it, but when you’ve got assignments to finish, bills to pay, women to “woo” etc… time becomes too important to be spending 30 minutes waiting for statistics to crunch.
Anyway, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed and maybe they’ll get it right this time.
Hope so!

On other fronts, Unreal Tournament 2004 just scored 5/5 over at GameSpy.
