Alarm Clock

When decorating and furnishing the bedroom a few appliances that we took for granted had to go… namely the stereo.

At the time it didn’t seem such a big thing, I was getting an iPod and speakers for Xmas. This solved the problem of two missing bedroom appliances — stereo & alarm clock. Although the iPod/Speakers combination worked perfectly, I sometimes forgot to connect the iPod to the speakers, and this (more often than not) resulted in me over-sleeping.

As the computer is turned on 99% of the time, I tried (unsuccessfully) to locate an alarm plugin for my software MP3 player (foobar2000), during the search I came across Citrus Alarm Clock and now have an alarm clock to wake me up to the sound of my favourite MP3 playlist.

    Foobar 2000
I was reminded the other day ( via a post from Chris Owens ) of a rather nifty little audio player for the PC called Foobar2000. Now up to release 0.8, foobar is much more stable than the early release…

I constantly use my cellphone as an alarm clock. It’s always plugged in next to me, and I can set it for multiple times.

Yeah, I tried to use my Samsung E700 as an alarm clock too. But when I’m really tired (read: most of the time) I tend to sleep through it or “automatically” turn it off.

Next time I get a new mobile though, I intend on finding one with the loudest alarm clock. :)
