Recent Links
I’ve been meaning to add a “recent-links” list to the blog for sometime, but didn’t want to use the WP links manager to do this. So I spent an hour or so last week looking at the various options available. I would have liked to have implemented Matt’s “Asides” approach, but unfortunately couldn’t get it to work correctly. Maybe I’ll take another look soon?
I opted to use Markku Seguerra’s excellent wp-recent-links plugin to accomplish this — the final result can now be seen in the navigation bar on the left.
Update
I managed to get Matt’s “Asides” approach to work so have removed the recent lists from the navigation bar. I decided to do this as I wanted my links to appear in the main RSS/XML feed. However, if your looking for an excellent plugin for WP and want to keep your links separate from your content, then the wp-recent-links plugin is an excellent choice.
