Gmail LogoElizabeth Howell started it all off again by donating 6 invites to the readers of my blog as she has done many times before. Andy & Benjamin then donated 6 each and then everybody started donating — So I figured why not run the Great Gmail Giveaway?

If you’re still without a gmail email account, feel free to leave your full name and email address in the comments and we’ll see if we can “hook you up” with an invite.

    My god! I remember when people were buying them or actually swapping prized personal possessions for a gmail account! Now people can’t give them away.

    The invite system is brilliant though, they get to see who everybody is talking to, what they talk about, when and how often. I have a gmail, I invite joe, who invite john we all talk about iPods and soon we are all getting targetted ads for iPod accessories!

    I think google are very, very clever. They have the largest blogging site/service, the king search engine, the soon to be largest and best email service, one the largest advertising systems and not the mention the social networking stuff “orkut” or whatever it is called and a ton of other clever stuff. No wonder Microsoft is worried, I only hope after the float that they keep the same attitude and outlook about the net and it’s users.
