Are you a closet iPod user?

I am, but not by choice… the Apple earphones hurt my ears, so I wear these awesome Sony inner-ear ‘phones.

How about you?

  1. Forget about hurting ears, it’s street-smarts. There are certainly some areas where walking around with those very distinctive earphones in marks you as a prime mugging target.

  2. I agree with you on that point Gary.

    Around here (Bolton/Leigh) it isn’t as bad as some areas… but there is definately still that chav culture that everyone hates.

    But if they want to step up and try it, then so be it… but its not going to be easy to take my baby from me. :)

  3. Here in California, it’s not a bug deal to walk around with the iPod headphones. However, I’ve never been a fan of earbuds, so I picked up a new set of Sony MDR-G52’s, which I really like. I also got a really good iPod case for 3G iPods.

    There’s a fair share of neds up here in Scotland (and knackers in Dublin) that would have it away…like Magpies really (the bird not the fan ;)) They know it’s shiny and they must have it – but I doubt they own or can use a computer to use it ;)

  5. Wasn’t at first, as I preferred the sound of my old Koss headphones. I broke ‘em and then learned to love the iPod headphones, but those are dying now as well from use, as the wires are wearing thin.

    Suffice to say, I’ll soon be an closet iPod user again.

  6. I use the Sony MDR-G52’s as well. I just found the normal iPod ones really uncomfortable.

    What is strange about the white ones is that when some people wear them, the sound seems to be amplified. You can sit there, and listen to the headphones from a couple of feed away, and not hear a thing. Pop them in your ear and suddenly everyone within 10 feet thinks you’re an obnoxious scumbag playing your music too loud. And you have no idea…
